Item Description

Datolites from Dalnegorsk are among some of the finest quality examples of the species in the world. The larger sized crystals combined with the beautiful color make for some really impressive specimens. This piece was found circa the late 1990s - early 2000s, and features many good sized, sharp, lustrous, translucent soft green colored (with a slight blue overtone) crystals of Datolite measuring up to 2.7 cm sitting on minor host rock matrix. Very good quality, with only a few small bruises on the display side. It is understandably contacted around the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall. There are some textbook crystal faces on this one, which is hard to illustrate in photos, but it looks great in person. Valued at $400-$500 retail.
