Item Description

Pyrite is reported from the famous mines at Charcas, but is EXTREMELY RARE on mineral specimens to the market and certainly in a combo like this. Brilliant brassy clusters of tiny pyrite pyritohedrons are aesthetically scattered on both sides on this striking and showy cluster of glassy, colorless danburite crystals. The danburites have beautiful gemmy terminations and are well-striated, which really accentuates the piece. The piece displays well from either side. All of the major danburites are pristine and the bit of periphery wear at the base has no impact on the fine quality of this very rare combination example. Valued at $600-750 for rarity and quality. Ex George Elling Collection.
