Item Description

The finest danburites in the world come from Charcas, Mexico and this is a large example from the 2008 find. The colorless, glassy, highly lustrous, translucent, tapered crystal has a glorious sharp, gemmy split termination. This fine piece has uncommon and excellent associations with attached quartz and calcite crystals and tiny stilbite bowties. The size of the crystal is very large, ranking it up there with the antique Russian danburites (which are opaque and chalky anyhow) and WAY BEYOND most Charcas material. Complete all-around, with only barely noticeable bruising to the accessory fields. The two side car danburites at the base have broken tips. Valued $600-750, for the size, quality and accessories. Ex Dave Stoudt Mexico Collection.
