Item Description

A sculptural and aesthetic 360-degree danburite crystal cluster with a surprise from the Bor Pit at Dalnegorsk. The lustrous, glassy, striated crystals have typical textbook chisel terminations. The dominating, larger, blocky danburite has a complex termination and is mostly translucent. The smaller secondary, tabular crystal has a beautiful, gem, colorless termination. The danburites enclose and grew over a pyrite at the broken base - an unexpected surprise. Ex Kay Robertson Collection. The number was lost during the move. Pyrite is a very uncommon and rare accessory from here. The three large danburites are pristine.
