Danburite w/ Chlorite (Fioravanti Coll.)

Item Description

Gem, elongated, water-clear, danburite prisms to 1.0 cm (doubly termimated) are richly scattered on the chloritic matrix. Many of the crystals are partially to fully coated by the chlorite. Such specimens are uncommon from this less well-known Swiss valley and this is an excellent and rich example. The base has been sawed to enhance the display quality. Cristallina Valley is an eastern branch of the Medel Valley. Ex Giancarlo Fioravanti Collection and acquired from the Venzin Collection in 1973 for 100 Swiss francs.
