Danburite (ex. Richard Kosnar)

This unusual material is a really old find, and they very rarely trickle to market now. This is from the Bolivian minerals classics collection of the late Richard Kosnar (Brian's father). These danburites are included by another mineral that gives them a grey-blue color, and it is quite unique. I have seen many over the years and usually dismiss them out of hand as not being display-worthy. Fine danburite specimens from Bolivia are very rare, which makes this one all the more spectacular. This is a doubly terminated, glassy, gray but lustrous, danburite crystal, measuring 5.5 cm in length (2 inches!). It is Imbedded in a matrix of white talc and it is terminated all around, freestanding, and complete! Valued $1200-1500
