Item Description

Without question, the finest crystals of Danburite in the world are those from Charcas. These large, water-clear, gem crystals are a Mexican classic. This specimen is very glassy, with well-formed faces on the textbook chisel-shaped termination and beautiful striations along the prism. The back of the termination does have a nick, but it's still a very good quality crystal in terms of size, quality and gemminess. From the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
