Item Description

Danburite crystals are at their best from the world-famous finds at Charcas, Mexico. These the largest GEM quality crystals of Danburite ever found, but most examples are simply single crystals off matrix, and groups like this are not nearly as common. This piece features a pair of fine quality, lustrous, prismatic crystals with classic "chisel-shaped" terminations, free of matrix. The crystals might appear to be colorless/white, but they are actually a very light pink hue, which is really only seen in larger crystals as you need a bit more size for the saturation to come through. No major damage that I can see, and it looks beautiful in person.
From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased. This piece is pictured on mindat at https://www.mindat.org/photo-197472.html
