Item Description

Cylindrite is one of the most unique species in the entire mineral kingdom. This very rare lead, iron, tin, antimony sulfosalt naturally forms in "cylinder" or "tube" shaped crystals, which is virtually unheard of for any mineral species. This miniature specimen is a solid mass of silvery-grey metallic Cylindrite crystals measuring up to 1.7 cm on massive Cylindrite matrix. This piece is from the type locality for the species. If you collect rarities or minerals from the type locality, don't miss out on this one. From the worldwide collection of Tom Campbell. Tom is a mineralogist and mineral collect who works with us here at The Arkenstone. He has over 35 years of experience in the fields of exploration geology, mining, and applied mineralogy, and has even more years under his belt as a collector!
