Item Description

Gemmy, very glassy, elongated cyclically-twinned cerussite crystals with fine smoky color are aesthetically intergrown in dramatic jackstraw fashion and this very showy and classic small cabinet plate from the renowned Tsumeb Mine. The crystals reach 3.3 cm and the piece has several fine display views. The dinged edge on the large crystal is certainly only a modest detraction to this very fine example. Ex Dr. Ed David Collection. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and assembled several world-class collections. Valued at $1100. It would be $6000-8000, if pristine. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $145, for free.
