Item Description

Cerussites of this quality are very rare from this ancient mining district (12 century). This is a striking parallel-growth cluster of adamantine-luster, smoky, cyclically-twinned crystals. The large spearpoint is most impressive and the intense stepped-growth faces really add pizzazz. The small twins are doubly terminated, with the attachment being at the base of the large crystal. Complete all-around and essentially pristine, with only a trivial bruise to the tip of the large crystal. An outstanding 360-degree cerussite from this historic district. Ex Burton Jirgl Collection. Valued at $2000.
