Item Description

The famous Grandview Mine lies inside of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, and for a time produced some highly colorful secondary copper minerals. The locality is completely defunct now, and obviously collecting is completely off-limits, but you still see pieces on the market, like this beauty. Some of the finest examples of Cyanotrichite came from this mine. Intense blue colored little "sprays" comprising acicular needles of Cyanotrichite can be seen sitting atop lighter turquoise blue color Chalcoalumite on this eye-catching small cabinet display specimen. We've photographed the crystals with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. The color is about as rich as I've seen for the species from this mine, and they look beautiful up close.
