Item Description

Gorgeous, velvety spheres of lustrous, deep sky-blue cyanotrichite to 2 mm across. Cyanotrichite is a fairly rare copper, aluminum, sulfate. The spheres are composed of acicular crystals that have aggregated together. The spheres are beautifully complimented by sprays of acicular, primary malachite crystals. Small but spectacular combination specimen from a now-closed mine that actually lies within the current boundary of the Grand Canyon National Park - Off limits for over 20 years, to collectors. Rarely do these turn up now in older collections. Ex Jaime Bird Collection.
