Item Description

Nestled in a vug along with minor light green malachite are gorgeous, velvety spheres of lustrous, deep sky -blue cyanotrichite to 2 mm across. Cyanotrichite is a fairly rare copper, aluminum, sulfate. The spheres are composed of acicular crystals that have aggregated together. Small but spectacular specimen from a now closed mine that actually lies within the current boundary of the Grand Canyon National Park - Off limits for over 20 years, to collectors. Rarely do these turn up now in older collections.
