Item Description
This classic Arizona combination features layers of cornflower-blue, micro needles of Cyanotrichite, aqua-colored, spheroidal Chalcoalumite, and intensely green Brochantite, both acicular and botryoidal. The colors complement each other in a dramatic fashion, and the geometry is such that the geologists among you cannot but help but think of a major sedimentary basin as you admire the piece. This small cabinet specimen is rich in all directions, with each side having it own distinct character. Very colorful, and uncommon, this combination is from the old and extinct Cu-U Grand View Mine, which was only active from 1893-1907. The mine lies within the current boundary of the Grand Canyon National Park and is off limits for over 20 years, to collectors. We believe that Bob self collected this an dmany others before that time. Aesthetic and desirable. From the extensive collection of Bob Reynolds, who cherished both minerals and fossils as he collected. Bob is a prolific author and has had several curating positions in museums.
