Item Description
Fantastically scuptural large copper from renowned Tsumeb. This dramatic 360-degree piece is sponge copper. The piece is festooned on all sides with tiny, sharp, sparkly wine-red cuprite crystals, that glow blood-red, when bright lit. The piece is also dramatically accented with brecciated pieces of black and pink matrix, adding even more character. An outstanding large copper combination from Tsumeb from the Ted Bartels Collection. It comes with a with a Gerstmann's label, well-known Franklin collectors and dealers, dating from the early 1960s to 1980 with a $300 price. Large copper specimens of this amazing sculptural style, richly coated with cuprite crystals are uncommon. Valued at $750-1000.
