Item Description
What an attractive miniature sized display specimen from this sulfide deposit in Russia that lies about 35 km from Kazakhstan border. This eye-catching and well-formed group of sharp, lustrous, well-formed octahedral Cuprite crystals has a dark red patina on the surface, but with strong backlighting, some deep blood red areas suddenly appear within the crystals. The largest Cuprite measures 1.3 cm. As a bonus, there are small areas featuring crystallized Silver (with a darker patina) in little spaces between the Cuprites (best seen with magnification). This pieced dates to about 2009. No major damage, and showy from a few angles.
