Cuprite with Malachite on Plancheite and Chrysocolla (ex Matioli)

Item Description

A classic Congo Cuprite specimen featuring several, sharp, dark red octahedra with minor green Malachite on stark contrasting soft blue-green Chrysocolla and blue Plancheite on matrix. The largest Cuprite measures 6 mm across, and despite a few nicks here and there, the piece is in good shape overall. The sharpness of the crystals is notable, as most I've seen from this locality can be somewhat rounded. The deep internal blood red color of the Cuprites can be seen best with strong backlighting.
