Item Description

Excellent and rather unique silver combination piece from the famous Tsumeb Mine in Namibia. Know for its world-class minerals but not the native metals, this miniature brings a whole nother realm of association minerals into the discussion you normally have about Tsumeb pieces. The main mineral in the pocket is Cuprite, lustrous and metallic as you would expect, and it is associated with green duftite or mottramite included Calcite. The Calcite's fluorescence which remains a bright orange. There is even some Native Silver on the reverse side. This is a surprising, and surprisingly interesting, miniature from Tsumeb where native silver was very rare...NOTE THAT ERIKA'S NUMBER 34000 OR SO CORRESPONDS TO THE 1970s...around the time it probably came out!
