Item Description

A very rich and showy cuprite with malachite specimen from this historic old Russian copper mine near Ekaterinburg. Splendent, metallic wine-red octahedrons to 8 mm cover part of one face of this massive cuprite ore specimen. This famous old copper mine is mentioned in travels by Johann Georgi in 1723 and by Alexander von Humboldt in 1824! VERY RARE on the market and probably old, but no proof. Rich and hefty ore at 508 grams or 1.1 pounds.
