Cuprite w/ Chrysocolla

Sharp, brilliant luster cuprite crystals cover the thin matrix plate with powder-blue chrysocolla on this very rich and excellent small cabinet from the famous Mashamba West Mine. The modified octahedrons or dodecahedrons, to 1.0 cm, look metallic-gray to slight wine-red under normal light, BUT glow with cherry-red translucence when brightly lit! Classic and rich material, probably from the well-known 1989 finds. This find produced some of the finest cuprites in world and this is an excellent and rich example. Valued at $1000-1250.
