Item Description

In my experiecne, it's quite rare to find specimens of Chalcotrichite (the acicular variety of Cuprite) from the famous New Cornelia Mine in Ajo, Arizona. I can only remember having had a select few of them over the years to offer. This piece features a patch of metallic, bright red color, somewhat matted, "needle"-like crystals of Chalcotrichite on matrix. Small colorless scalenohedral Calcites can also be seen on the piece for a nice touch. A cool locality specimen from this well-known Arizona locale. The little crystals are best seen under magnification, and we've photographed them with a macro lens to better illustrate the quality.
Ex Les Presmyk / De Natura specimen.
