Item Description
It's rare to find specimens of Chalcotrichite (the acicular variety of Cuprite) from the New Cornelia Mine in Ajo, Arizona. We've only had a select few of them over the years. This piece has a rich coverage of strong metallic red color, somewhat matted, "needle"-like crystals of Chalcotrichite on matrix. A cool locality specimen from this well-known Arizona locale. The little crystals are best seen under magnification, and we've photographed them with a macro lens to better illustrate the quality.
