Cuprite (var: Chalcotrichite) on Copper

Cuprite (variety Chalcotrichite) is rare from Tsumeb and this is an excellent association specimen. Tiny, acicular, bright metallic, red gemmy needles of Chalcotrichite are richly scattered across the surface of a crystalline group of Native Copper matrix. The Chalcotrichite needles are best seen under magnification, but they look great up close. While Copper was a common ore at Tsumeb, the combination of these copper minerals for collectors are uncommon. You honestly don't see a lot of Chalcotrichite ON Copper like this from Tsumeb.
