Item Description

A classic and hard to find specimen of the desirable Chalcotrichites from the famous Tsumeb Mine This piece is features "tuft"-like groups of electric red color acicular "needles" of this variety of Cuprite nestled in vugs on the underlying matrix. Beautiful to view up close, and if you collect Tsumeb minerals, this is a must have as they are seldom seen on the market, especially in such fine quality crystals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#2877). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
