Item Description

The front of this large, sculptural, vivid specimen is richly covered with large patches of scintillating, blood-red needles of this variety of cuprite. The vuggy matrix itself is interesting, as it is a banded, brecciated gossan. This is certainly an old piece, probably pre-1950s, and is an extremely rich example for both the species and famous locality. Ex Irenee DuPont and University of Delaware Collections. Highly prized material.
