Item Description
Cuprite is well known in crystallized examples from all over the world, but good gemstones really only come from one of two places in the world. Without a doubt, the best faceted stones of this copper oxide are the electric blood red gems from the Emke Mine, Onganja, Namibia. This gem is a fantastic "Emerald" cut gem with brilliant metallic red color and excellent clarity. The label states that the gem is from Tsumeb, but the specimen is actually the only piece from Tsumeb. It features sharp, well-formed, deep reddish octahedra measuring up to 4 mm on oxidized matrix. A really attractive set and good quality for anybody whose looking for a good faceted Cuprite, as they are few and far between on the market these days. We had this set priced at $700 in the inventory.
