Item Description
Bisbee, Arizona is one of the great secondary metal deposits in the world. Certainly it is one of the top US localities for its iconic specimens which date back to the 1800s. This piece is a rarely seen association specimen featuring dozens of tiny (< 1 mm), sparkling, razor-sharp, textbook octahedral blood red crystals of Cuprite, sitting atop grey, flowing, botryoidal forms of Manganese Oxides (the specific species isn't known). I haven't seen many of these over the years, and if you're a big fan of Bisbee material, this is something that you're not likely to find on the market, so don't miss out on a chance to pick up a good combo piece from this beloved mining area. We have photographed the tiny Cuprite crystals with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. A former Les Presmyk / De Natura specimen.
