Item Description
Sharp, lustrous, deep wine-red metallic cuprite crystals, to 6 mm, look like Christmas tree ornaments on this sculptural, arborescent, flattened, two-sided crystallized copper specimen from the well-known Chino Mine. The copper crystals are sharp to subhedral tetrahexahedrons. The cuprites light up a beautiful blood-red, when backlit! Fine cuprite and copper combinations are not that common from Chino and this is an excellent example from the Ted Bartels Collection. This particular specimen was probably collected in the 1960s, but not released til the late 1980s. Classic and desirable Chino Mine cuprite and copper.
