Item Description
Cuprite specimens are very uncommon from the Chuquicamata Mine, the world's largest open-pit copper mine. Lustrous, wine-red, subhedral cuprite crystals richly cover the flattened, sculptural, two-sided small cabinet, that also includes copper and some matrix. Ex John Dagenais Collection, a well-known Canadian collector. A rare and excellent specimen-grade cuprite with copper from Chuqui. These mostly should be from the 1960s and earlier, now very rare in any kind of quality!
