Sparkling, highly modified sharp cuprite octahedrons are densely intergrown on copper wires into a striking, sculptural arborescent miniature from the famous Ray Mine. The translucent crystals are dark wine-red in normal light, but glow with beautiful cherry-red color when brightly lit. The bit of attached matrix adds character. Bill was the first Curator of Earth Science at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum in 1974 and the author of the 1987 book Minerals of Mexico. It is the most thorough summary of the subject.
