Cuprite on Copper

A sculptural copper specimen from this famous Arizona locale. Lustrous, blood-red cuprite crystals and granular cuprite coat much of the highly arborescent specimen. The overall form is spinel-twinned, but the piece is composed mostly of sharp tetrahexahedral crystals under the cuprite. The piece looks like a comic character or alien with spindly legs.
