Item Description

Sharp cubic to modified cubic to cuboctahedral cuprite crystals are richly and attractively clustered or isolated on the sculptural, floater, 360-degree, arborescent, small cabinet copper matrix. The cuprites are rich wine-red to metallic and lustrous to matte finish. Isolated crystals reach 4 mm. Some of the cuprites light up a beautiful blood-red, with bright light. Pieces of attached porphyry matrix are a fine contrast and complement. Ex Jack Halpern Collection of San Francisco with no number. Jack, now 104 years old, assembled one of the world's great mineral collections. He is beloved by all who have met him. We recently acquired the remainder of his collection. Fine cuprite and copper combinations are not that common from Chino and this is an excellent example.
