Item Description
Lustrous, sharp, partially translucent, deep blood-red, cuprite crystals fill a 5.5 cm vug in masssive cuprite in this showy and excellent old-time specimen from from a less well-known German locale. Some of the cuprites have a light brown overgrowth. The Kausersteimel Mine was discovered in the early 19th century and closed in 1931. Specimens from this historic locality are seldom on the market. Ex Howard Belsky Collection. Rich copper ore with super rare crystallized cuprites, it is hard to value!
