Item Description

Lustrous, sharp, metallic wine-red cuprite octahedrons, to 4 mm, are festooned on the matrix plate on this very rich and showy miniature from this classic Cornwall locale. The sharpness and density of the crystals is noteworthy and they glow cherry-red, when backlit. Primary production was over by 1852 at Wheal Gorland! Excellent old-time material.
