Item Description

This one of the better pieces from the limited 2018 discovery that produced these impressive and fine quality Cuprites. This piece features dozens of sharp, lustrous, metallic dark silvery-red cuprite octahedrons, measuring up to 6 mm, covering the display side of the underlying oxidized matrix from the Chengmenshan Mine. Most of the crystals are in very good shape, but there are few rough spots here and there. The octahedra have a deep cherry-red glow when brightly lit. The combination of the luster, sharpness, gemminess and the fact that the crystals are on matrix makes this a very desirable example of the species. Cuprite specimens of this richness and quality are not that common from this super large multiple open pit Cu-Mo-Au deposit. Priced in our inventory at $1,250.
