Item Description

An amazingly sculptural and artistic copper specimen from Michigan. The brick-red, cuprite-coated, crystals on the crest/side look like a dinosaur backbone with nubby vertibrae points and one rib attached. All of the sharp or flattened crystals look to be tetrahexahedral crystals, even the very elongated "rib". This old-timer is certainly one of the more unusual and striking crystallized copper forms we have seen from this noted locale. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection # 789 with a 1977 date. Valued at $600-750.
