Item Description

A beautiful near full cabinet sized, highly aesthetic specimen from the famous Ray Mine in Arizona. This piece features a gorgeous, branching, arborescent crystal group of native Copper which is partially altering to reddish-brown Cuprite on the surface, and if you look closely, you'll see shimmering, brilliant red "needle"-like crystals of Chalcotrichite, which is the acicular variety of Cuprite. The Copper group is lying flat against the underlying oxidized matrix. The Chalcotrichite crystals are beautiful to view up close. There is a rich coverage of crystals on this piece and certainly worth picking up for your Arizona collection or a suite of Copper minerals. Fine, classic, historic material from Arizona. From the collection of Dr. Barratt Phillips.
