Item Description
An excellent modified, gemmy Cuprite crystal etched out from under a coating of Malachite from Onganja, Namibia. This crystal measures over an inch in maximum dimension and glows a deep crimson color with backlighting and even has a perceptible red color without direct illumination. It is octahedral with minor cube modifications with slightly textured crystal faces that have good luster. in excellent condition with only one tiny aberration on an edge and is contacted at the bottom with some traces of remnant Malachite. These glow like a cherry when strongly backlit. This shows only moderate bounced lighting, and so it is a fair photo representation. To get them to glow, though, is not difficult. One good point light source does it! Old material.
