Item Description
Sharp, lustrous, metallic wine-red cuprite octahedrons, to 7 mm, are richly clustered atop the sculptural matrix on this showy and excellent small cabinet from the Chengmenshan Mine. The octos have a deep cherry-red glow, when brightly lit. Cuprite specimens of this richness and quality are not that common from this super large multiple open pit Cu-Mo-Au deposit. The piece is from a 2018 find.
