Item Description
Vivid mint-green, translucent, rounded cuprian smithsonite rhombs with frosted faces, to 1.0 cm, are aesthetically clustered on the vuggy matrix plate covered with tiny white smithsonite rhombs on this colorful and exceptional 2-generation smithsonite specimen from famous Berg Aukas, source of the world's finest descloizites and outstanding smithsonites. This well-known Zn-Pb-V deposit was discovered in 1913 and mined until 1978. Cuprian smithsonite with this bright and rich green color saturation is VERY RARE and desirable from here. The Prosper Williams label, a noted Namibia and South Africa specialist, dates from 1966 to 1980. Valued at $650-850.
