Item Description
This is an excellent specimen of the distinctive "apple-green" cuprian smithsonite the 79 Mine was famous for back in the day. The pretty, translucent botroyoids have sparkly, waxy luster. It became almost impossible to get, and then over the past decade, a couple of miners went back into the old works and got a modest trickle of new specimens back into the market. I frankly do not know if this specimen is from the original early 1990s or newer finds - but it sure is pretty! The back has been sawed to enhance the display quality. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON! Valued at $500-600
