Item Description
What a gorgeous combination specimen from Tsumeb! This piece hosts groups of amazing, blue-green Smithsonite crystals atop mounds of unusually fine Duftite crystals accented by gemmy Cerussite crystals. The Smithsonite crystals exhibit complex, slightly rounded forms with a glassy luster, gem clarity and a stunning blue green color that is truly exceptional - even by Tsumeb standards. The Cerussite crystals are transparent to translucent, whitish and all are twinned to some degree. The Duftite crystals on this piece are significant given their large size for the species (1 mm), sharp form and sparkling luster. This attractive combination piece came from a small, one time find and specimens are quite scarce. This style came from ONE single small pocekt brought out by Charlie Key, and he told me that it actually was probably collected in the 1980s but only came to market in the late 1990s.
