Item Description
The Huanzala Mine of Peru has arguably produced the world's finest pyrites and this specimen is an excellent example. Striking, mirror-bright, brass-yellow, cuboctahedrons comprise this sculptural LARGE CABINET specimen. The largest crystal is 3.3 cm and most of the crystals have striated faces. The textbook form and intense color and luster are top notch. Peripherywear and trivial bruising are noted, but this is a solid mass of crystallized pyrite! Classic Huanzala material with several excellent display views! Specimens of this quality came out in the 1970s and 80s. Ex Zukowski Collection. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!! The color is truly splendent brass-yellow. Hefty and impressive at 7.7 pounds or 3.5 kilos. Valued $900-1200
