Item Description

An exellent and very showy, two-sided specimen from the famous mines at Naica. The two sides could not be anymore different! Splendent, sharp, cuboctahedral galena crystals to 1.6 cm are attractively clustered and surrounded by starkly contrasting, creamy drusy quartz, a few lustrous, jet-black, sphalerite crystals and couple of stringers of bright, brassy, chalcopyrite crystals. The "B" side is entirely galena octos, BUT they are all coated with a sparkly overgrowth of galena microcrystals, giving this side a more matte texture. Overall the piece is in fine shape, with just a bit of edge and periphery wear. Certainly nothing to detraction. A classic, showy and unusual Naica sulfide combination specimen from the Consie Prince Collection.
