Item Description

Lustrous, battleship-gray, cuboctahedral galena crystals to 2.0 cm cover the mounded matrix on this excellent specimen from a classic Polish locale - Olkusz. Some of the crystals have flattened terminations and look like Mayan pyramids. Mineral specimens from Olkusz are not that common and this is a highly representative example of the species and locale. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection. Heavy lead at 701 grams or over 1.5 pounds.
