Densely intergrown, water-clear gem, bi-colored mint-green and colorless fluorite cuboctahedrons form an exceptional large mounded specimen from the well-known 2006 find at the Gibraltar Mine at famed Naica. This was one of the most important single fluorite pockets found in Mexico in recent years, and at the time was a huge bonanza for fluorite collectors - but where are they now!? This was considered an excellent piece even at the time it came out, for size, gemminess, quality. The striking crystals, to 6.2 cm across, are dramatically accented by glass-clear cube faces and satin luster octahedral faces. You can view down the cube faces like a TV screen. Sphalerite, pyrite and galena, typical accessories, are noted on the attachment area. There is a bit of noted periphery wear, not a big detraction in context to the size of this outstanding large architectural 2-color specimen. Purple fluorescence. 1300 grams or 2.9 pounds mass. Valued at $3000-4000 for size and quality.
