Item Description

Simply put, some of the most classic magnetites from North America are those from Balmat, New York. These are some of the most distinctive and eye-catching magnetite specimens in the world due to their cubic habit. This is an impressive thumbnail cluster of intergrown metallic-gray luster cubes. I'm told that these specimens were mined in the early 1990s, and are not common on the market today. A very fine thumbnail display specimen of this well-known material from New York. Strongly magnetic, as you would expect. The piece comes from the collection of Richard Hauck.
