Cubanite & Mooihoekite (both RARE) & Calcite (Vochten Coll.)

Item Description

Cubanite and Mooihoekite are both RARE from the largest open-pit mine in South Africa. Striking iridescent metallic peacock-blue and magenta Mooihoekite sections are richly embedded on all sides of the of the blocky granular calcite matrix along with lamellar patches of gray Cubanite. Mooihoekite is a rare Cu-Fe sulfosalt. This is an EXCEPTIONALLY rich and rare Mooihoekite and Cubanite combination for the locale. The calcite has moderate pink fluorescence.
