Item Description
A fabulously crystallized leaf gold miniature from the historic Breckenridge District, probably Farncomb Hill. Both sides of this rich golden, sculptural cutie consist of hoppered octahedrons, spinel-twins and leaf gold. I like the way the sharpest crystals are concentrated along the jagged top of both sides in spinel-twin form. These are generally historic specimens, with most having been found prior to 1900. However, some have trickled out over the years to intrepid diggers. No way to say when this one came out, in other words, but it likely is an older specimen. Note the unusual, elongated octahedrons to this specimen indicate that this piece is quite obviously from Breckenridge. Valued at $2500-2750. Mass is 9 grams. OLD piece!
